The ultimate mission of Grand Makers Camp is to give kids an opportunity to learn about and embody the one true Grand Maker- God. We believe that we worship and serve a God who is incredibly creative, innovative, and passionate about His creation. We also believe that as humans we are created in God’s image and therefore able to glorify and learn more about Him through embodying these characteristics ourselves. At Grand Makers, we want to challenge kids to look deeply at the creative God of the Bible through our daily devotional meetings, and then go on to implement those things throughout the various activities and challenges that we do.
We don’t just want to teach kids about the STEAM fields. We also want to teach them that they are created in God’s image and therefore have innate value that is not based on their own performance, but instead on God’s unconditional love and grace. That it’s okay to explore and make mistakes as we search for solutions to problems. That no one is perfect, but thanks to our perfect God we are still loved. We want to empower kids to use their own creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to glorify their Creator while also engaging with other kids and having a ton of fun!
The vision of Grand Makers is to create a place where kids can learn, grow, and have a ton of fun during the summer. I am currently a fourth grade teacher, and the driving force behind Grand Makers. I love the opportunity that STEAM provides for kids to learn about God’s creation in a hands-on and engaging way. I am so excited to create a welcoming environment where learning can truly be fun and continue into the summer.
